![]() The Tellstart Process Every day after the calls begin, we will send you an Excel file that will contain the name, address and phone number of the individual who left their name for follow-up. Remember… these people are expecting you to contact them. The longer you wait to make contact by phone the less likely they will ever attend your church. Dedicate the week of the calls for this purpose. Along with the Excel file we will send you all of the voice responses in a .wav format. These files will come to you from RapidShare.com. We do this because often the size of the folder we are sending exceeds what most ISPs permit to be attached to an email. RapidShare will send you a simple email. The subject line will read, “RapidShare - New uploads for you at RapidShare.com.” When you open the email you will see, “Welcome to the upload service of RapidShare.com. Tellstart has stored files for you on our platform. Click the link and you will be able to download the files. It is critical that you listen to the voice files FIRST. This will help you prioritize your follow-up. If you just read the name, you would not know if Mary Jackson was 32 or 82. If she is white, African American, Hispanic, etc. As you listen to the voice responses categorize each respondent on a scale from 1 to 5. 1 being the most likely to actually attend; 5 being the least likely. Example of a 1 might be a person who said, “My name is Rodney Hicks. We just moved here, and we’re looking for a church home. Please call me back.” A number 5 might say, ”My name is Mabel Johnson. I am 86 years old and I have no transportation. I’d love to come. Can you give me a ride?” Rodney is your hottest prospect - new to the area, and actually looking for a church. Even if Mabel does come the likelihood of her staying in a post-modern church with contemporary music and culture is low. So do your best to evaluate the voice message and prioritize your follow-up accordingly. When calling people back, use the scrip we have provided for you. Obviously, you can optimize it for your particular situation. The file is called “Follow up questions. The bottom line is diligence! Get this done. Bad follow-up produces bad results. I know you are busy with a million other things that fall into the category of the “tyranny of the urgent.” But diligent follow-up is what makes Tellstart produce results.
